This is something that should have always been in place. You can't take choice away from individuals however you one can strongly encourage its employees to keep the money in the system. Tier one should be Grady Health care system. If employees are made to use the system as well, they will treasure it and take care of it- attitudes about the system will change for the positive and maybe Grady will be viewed as more then just "Ghetto" (I heard several nurses and patients refer to the system using this word "Ghetto"- I personally don't share this attitude).

The only way Perdue would be good as a Vice President is that we'd get him out of Georgia.

I agree with the Senate's efforts to be more deliberative.

However, I think the Senate Rules committee needs to immediately consider these vetoes and send back their recommendations to the Senate for an immediate up-or-down vote.

I agree with Chris, and I'll add the simple fact that additional taxation in an attempt to "level the playing field" goes against the basic rule of good government. The attempt should be to reduce the size and scope of these type of taxes not to expand them.

Senator,

if that is the lesson, why is it being debated that Grady go private? Aren't the powers that be doing the exact opposite of the lesson that you say is in this mess? Why are citizens sitting by while this hospital is about to become private and even more secretive?

Cable companies deploy infrastructure along right-of-ways in counties. Sat providers don't. Forcing Satellite providers to negotiate a franchise fee for all counties and cities in this state -when they already have paying customers - will be a massive paperwork nightmare and force these companies to direct resources away from making their product better.

Franchise fees are a cost of doing business for a entity that needs to string fiber or copper. Satellite providers have their own infrastructure expenses involved with launching birds into geo-sync orbit. This action is pure rent-seeking on the part of the Cable & Phone companies and should not be allowed.
